M.I Abaga

Jude was born in the Plateau State city of Jos. Pastor and Mrs. Abaga, both of Nigerian heritage, hail from Takum, Taraba state.

He went to Baptist High School in Jos, where his mother bought him rudimentary music notation and eventually a 7-key little piano, launching him into the world of music.

Jude has two brothers, Jesse Jagz and Jason Abaga, both of whom are involved in the Nigerian and African music scenes. Jude listened to Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Sarah Maclachlan, Pablo Neruda, Jay-Z, and DMX during his adolescence.

Jude’s foray into the hip hop realm began in 1998 with the sampling of DMX and Lauryn Hill’s musical compositions.

Following his time at Calvin College in Michigan, he pursued a profession in Business and Economics while also writing poems.

He played at the school’s main hip hop exhibitions and concerts on a regular basis.

In 2003, his exceptional rap flows and attitude earned him a third-place finish at the Calvin College event dubbed “HipHopera,” which was actually Calvin College’s sole “hip hop show” at the time. M.I.

He even tried his hand at comedy, but opted to stick to music after becoming embarrassed when no one else laughed but him.

When Jude Abaga returned to Nigeria in 2003, he launched his music career. In a business dominated by Modenine, Ruggedman, and Eedris Abdulkareem, he must carve out a niche for himself.

With his pal Djinee, he started making mixtapes right away. Check out Ml Abaga’s Songs, Videos and Albums below!
