Afrobeats musician Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko (born January 28, 1987) also goes by the stage names Adekunle Gold and AG Baby.
In 2015, he broke through with “Sade,” a highlife rendition of “Story of My Life” by One Direction. After signing with YBNL Nation, he released his first studio album, Gold, in 2015. It debuted at number seven on the Billboard World Albums chart. Three singles, “Sade,” “Orente,” and “Pick Up,” were released prior to the album Gold.
Adekunle Gold told Nigerian Entertainment Today that he created the YBNL logo along with artwork for Lil Kesh, Viktoh, and Olamide before signing with the label.
Adekunle and Simi tied the knot in a small, private ceremony at the beginning of 2019. Their five-year relationship eventually came to light. In May of 2020, they had a baby girl.
Singer Adekunle Gold revealed on July 15th, 2022, that he has been battling Sickle-Cell illnesses since he was a child, and that his new song, “5 Star,” is based on his experiences with the illness.
