Aramide is a well-known Nigerian Afro-Soul singer who rose to prominence in 2015 after releasing her debut single under her new label BaseLine Records. She’s been releasing additional tracks and collaborations since then.
Aramide Sarumoh was born in the Nigerian city of Lagos. Her early years were spent in the famed city of Jos, where she honed her singing and songwriting skills. She holds a political science degree from the University of Jos.
Aramide grew up in a musical family, which sparked her interest in music. Her passion for songwriting began at an early age, when she started composing in high school. A multi-talented musician with inspirations from a wide range of soul, jazz, and contemporary performers.
She was a part of a concert called ‘Divas Unplugged’ in 2008, which included the top female musicians in the industry, and her appearance was impossible to miss.
She learned to play the saxophone and guitar after graduating from high school, two instruments she adores.
