Bayanni

Bayanni (previously Zhenoboy), a stage name for Abimbola Oladokun, is a rising star in the Nigerian Afro-pop music scene.

The singer of African Beauty rose to prominence after videos of him performing cover songs went viral on social media in 2021, and he became even more well-known after his 23 August 2022 introduction and new stage name were announced by Don Jazzy, the boss of Marvin Records.

Once Bayanni decided he wanted to make a living as a musician, he opted to pursue a career in pop music rather than gospel. After being inspired by artists like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide, he began penning Afropop and Afrobeats tunes in the privacy of his own home and college dorm room. Within a matter of months, he had greatly improved his composing talents, and he had begun visiting recording studios near his school to record his songs.

Bayanni managed to squeeze music composition into his busy academic schedule. Prioritizing the pursuit of his interest was a key to his success. As a result, he was sought out for collaborations and invited to perform at OAU-sponsored events, fast becoming a star in the OAU music industry. Bayanni started posting cover versions of popular songs on his social media accounts in an effort to boost his profile and gain more listeners.

In April of 2021, he put out a cover of Ckay’s Felony that he had recorded. He covered Jowo by Davido on October 14, 2021. Five days later, on October 19th, 2021, he released a cover of Peru by Fireboy DML.

African Beauty, Bayanni’s long-awaited debut single, was released on April 12, 2022. This tune was produced by Blaise Beatz and mixed by Michael Synx. The music video for the song was also released on the same day, produced by Pharouk Damilola Films. African Beauty has been played and downloaded hundreds of times since its debut.

The track has been rising rapidly in popularity on Afropop charts across the country. The soulful artist’s discography also features the songs Duro (with Frescool), BMW, and Ballerina.
