Suspected Abductors, believed to be armed individuals, have reportedly Kidnapped the wife of a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) along with two others in Kwara State.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when a group of seven alleged kidnappers entered the rural community of Elerinjare within the Ifelodun local government area of the state. In an operation that took place around 8:45 p.m., the victims were reportedly taken hostage.
The pastor’s wife, Blessing Ajiboye, and two of her employees were allegedly abducted from her local shop while she was attending to customers. It has been reported that the two shop assistants were eventually released.
According to Pastor Johnson Olalekan Ajiboye’s account, the armed individuals, including two women, launched the attack on the busy store from a nearby bush adjacent to the Community Primary School. The pastor stated that he heard gunshots as he left the shop to retrieve something from their nearby residence.

Pastor Ajiboye recounted that as he was about to respond to his wife’s calls from their home’s balcony, the assailants began shooting at the windows and doors of his house, preventing him from leaving to provide assistance.
“The assailants did not take any money. They only took my wife, Blessing Ajiboye, 34, after they had freed the baby strapped to her back. They left the baby on the ground,” he narrated.
Furthermore, it was revealed that a neighbor who was reportedly in close proximity to the shop sustained a gunshot wound and was undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital.
Allegedly, Oba Tajudeen Olaitan, the Olu of Elerinjare and the monarch of the community had a meeting with leaders from the Fulani community. Meanwhile, local vigilante groups were present at the scene to assist the state police command’s anti-kidnapping squad in their efforts to search for potential suspects involved in the kidnapping.
