Oshola was involved in a tackle with a South African defender when they met on Monday but shrugged it off and continued to play before she was replaced by Francisca Ordega in the 81st minute.

This was just days after the Ace Barcelona striker had launched a football academy in Lagos Nigeria.

In her tweet, she wrote:

“I am proud to announce the launch of the Asisat Oshoala Academy in partnership with @nikefootball and @Women_Win

The football academy is an initiative that will build upon my mission of providing access to sports and education for young girls in our community.”

Reacting to the Breaking News, Nigerian sports analyst Oga Nle media took to his Twitter handle to fault the Super Falcons doctors for the injury the football star sustained.

In his tweets, he wrote:

“The Super Falcons doctors and the technical crew should be held responsible for Asisat Oshoala’s injury.

This was the moment, she felt she can’t continue. How she played for 70+ minutes was surprising to me.”
