Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, better known by his stage name Dr Cryme, is a Ghanaian rapper and early proponent of the “twipop” genre.

Dr. Cryme is also the CEO of Twipop Recordz and has worked as a TV presenter and brand ambassador.

Agyekum was born in Tema and started making music when he was in elementary school.

He attended Datus School before going to ASUTECH in Cape Coast and Sotech in Somanya to get his broadcast journalism certificate from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Dr. Cryme, Agyekum’s stage name, is an acronym that stands for “Doctor (of the) Creative Rhymes You Most Enjoy.”

Agyekum rose to underground fame while still in high school thanks to “Kasahare Level,” a popular rap competition on Adom FM (an Accra-based radio station) that featured Sarkodie, Stay Jay, and others.

These rap bouts and his style of music drew the attention of the Ejams record company, which signed him in 2010. In the same year, he recorded his first hit single, “Kill me shy.”

His debut album, “Finally Finally,” was published in 2011. His song “Kill me shy” won “Hiplife song of the year” at the Ghana Music Awards in 2012.

He also received nominations for “Song Writer of the Year,” “Most Popular Song of the Year,” and “Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste of the Year.”

In February 2018, Agyekum released his sophomore album, Showtime. The smash single “Koko Sakora,” which features Sarkodie, is among the album’s twenty tracks. Check out D Cryme’s Songs, Videos and Albums below!
