Humblesmith (Ekenedilichukwu Ijemba) is a Nigerian afropop recording artist who rose to prominence after the release of his single “Osinachi,” which earned him a nomination at the 2016 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
He began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor, appearing in films such as Hypertension (2010) with Sam Loco Efe.
He was born in Uruala, a town in Imo State’s Ideato North local government area, in southern Nigeria.
Humblesmith was born into a Catholic household in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Nigeria, on May 14, 1991.
He began dancing in high school and was a member of a group called the American Boys before moving to Asaba City, the capital of Delta State in South-Southern Nigeria, to pursue a career in music.
He moved to Lagos State in 2012, where he recorded his debut single “Chairmoo” in 2014.
In 2015, he released the chart-topping hit “Osinachi,” which included Phyno and Davido in the remix version.
The song got him a nomination for the “Best New Act” category at the 2016 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, as well as a mention for “Hottest Single” at the same event.
In April 2016, he collaborated with Flavour N’abania on the song “Jukwese,” which received national rotation.
