Nigerian musician Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel (born March 23, 1994), better known by his stage name Mayorkun. After releasing a version of Davido’s “The Money,” the singer found him through the social media platform.

He was born into a family of performers, and he is the eldest of three children. His parents both have artistic and filmmaking backgrounds; his mom is a Nollywood actress and his dad is a movie producer.

He graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in accounting and was working as a bank teller until being founded in 2016.

In February of 2016, Mayorkun’s cover video caught the eye of music producer Davido, prompting him to leave his low-paying banking position and start looking for new work.

After Davido started following him on Twitter and Instagram, he inquired if he could do anything but play the piano.

Because of this, Davido chose to sign him to Davido Music Worldwide. In 2016, Mayorkun dropped his debut track for the label titled “Eleko.” On 1 May 2016, the song debuted at position #9 on the Nigeria Playdata charts, and by 28 May 2016, it had climbed to position #5.

After parting ways with DMW in 2021, Davido and Mayorkun broke the news to their respective fan bases at the record release celebration for Davido’s second studio album, “Back In Office,” 2021. The interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was conducted by Davido.

On October 29, 2021, “Back In Office,” a studio album, was released in Nigeria under the Sony Music, West Africa division.
