Mbosso

The real name of the artist is Mbwana Yusuf Kilungi, but he goes by the stage name Mbosso. He was born on October 3, 1991, in Kibiti, Pwani Region, but he now lives in Dar es Salaam and is signed to the WCB Wasafi record label.

Between 2013 and 2015, he began his professional music career as one of four members of Yamoto Band. The name “Maromboso” was his stage name back then. After being nominated for several awards, the band took home the top prize at the 2015 Kilimanjaro Music Awards. Later in 2015, the band broke up.

Mbosso relaunched his solo career in 2018 after being signed to WCB Wasafi, a record company formed by Diamond Platnumz. He has since released the singles “Maajabu,” “Picha Yake,” “Tamu,” and “Tamba.”

In 2020, Mbosso became one of just four Tanzanian musicians to amass one million subscribers on YouTube. The YouTube community voted him the winner and presented him with a golden plaque.

Mbosso’s first studio album, titled “Definition of Love,” came out in 2021. Diamond Platnumz, Njenje Band, Mr. Flavour, Rayvanny, Liya, Darassa, Spice Diana, and Baba Levo were among the featured musicians on the album, which came out on March 9.
