Mercy Nnenda Chinwo, better known by her stage name Mercy Chinwo, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, recording artist, and actor.

She was born on April 20 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She rose to notoriety after winning Season 2 of Nigerian Idol, sponsored by Etisalat and Pepsi, in 2012.

Chinwo’s father passed away while she was a child. She began her musical career as a backup singer for gospel artists including Preye Odede, Buchi, Joe Praize, Sammie Okposo, Chris Morgan, and others.

Mercy’s first single, “Testimony,” was produced by Rotimi Keys in 2015, and was followed by “Igwe.” In 2017, she released four more singles in anticipation of her debut album.
