Michael Owusu Addo was born in the Ghanaian town of Tema on July 10, 1988. He is the family’s fourth kid, he began rapping at a young age, which led to a successful career.


IPMC awarded him a Graphics Design degree. Sarkodie is noted for rapping in Twi, his native language, and for being a “multifaceted rapper.”

With his first single, ‘Baby,’ featuring Mugeez of duet group R2Bees, the Ghanaian superstar music act reached the limelight and was set to have expanded his fan base.

After participating in several rap battles, the versatile rapper made some connections, including meeting his first management, Duncwill Entertainment’s Ducan Willams. (Now an ex-manager.)


The experience also prompted him to create his successful debut album, ‘Makaye,’ which established him as one of Ghana’s emerging artists with the finest of rich lyrical content.

This album is without a doubt a step forward for Sarkodie in cementing his place among the emerging talents who have captivated his fans all over the world.

The entertainer’s mindset is always “if you don’t program your life, life will program you.” This has motivated him to work hard and carve out a niche for himself in the industry with his new single.

In 2012, his album “Rapperhollic,” which featured the popular singles “Goodbye” and “Onyame Nhyira” as lead singles, was a hit that kept him on track and earned him a slew of prizes.
