Wizkid’s new single, “Essence,” debuted at number 82 on the Billboard 100 this week.

The fourth single off his album, “Made in Lagos,” “Essence,” has become a fan favorite and summer smash tune for celebrities in the United States and around the world.

Tems‘ first chart appearance comes as a result of this achievement.

For the second time since its release, Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” album has charted on Billboard’s World Album Chart.

Billboard’s Hot 100 rankings are based on physical and digital sales, radio airplay, and internet streaming in the United States.

Along with Burna Boy and Tems, the 14-track album features Damian Marley, Skepta, Projexx, H.E.R, and Ella Mai.

After Ginger peaked at No. 67 on the UK Singles Chart in June 2021, Essence debuted at No. 91, making ‘Made in Lagos’ the only Nigerian album to have multiple songs debut on the UK Singles Chart.

Since its release on October 30, 2020, Wizkid’s fourth studio album “Made In Lagos” has topped the charts and continues to do so.

From being named one of British Vogue’s “Twelve Best Albums of 2020” and The Guardian UK’s “Top 50 Albums of 2020” to “Ginger” debuting at number 150 on Apple Music’s US Top 200, there’s no doubt that the album has become a global hit, generating waves and earning accolades all around the world.
