Timaya is the stage name of Enetimi Alfred Odom, a Nigerian singer and composer who has made a name for himself in the country’s music industry.

Timaya has a large following in Nigeria and around the world thanks to hit songs including “Plantain Boy,” “Bum Bum,” and “Sexy Ladies.”

At many concerts, his electrifying stage performances have proven to be fan pleasers.

Timaya is from Odi, Bayelsa State, and was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on November 29, 1977.

He came from a huge family, and he was the youngest of fifteen children.

He spent the majority of his childhood in Port Harcourt’s Agip Estate. Timaya had a banker for a father and a dealer for a mother when she was growing up.

He attended Assemblies of God Nursery and Primary School throughout his primary school years, and then Nkpolu Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt for his secondary schooling.

He competed in many interschool tournaments and received accolades for his accomplishments while in high school.

He was well-known for never standing for bullying and for being outspoken about his beliefs. He went out on his own at the early age of 14 and resolved to follow his dreams on his own.

His mother arranged for him to travel down to Lagos with his older sister and brother to finish his secondary education.

He was educated in Ikeja Grammar School, where he received his Secondary School Certificate. Timaya returned to Port Harcourt for his tertiary education, studying Banking and Finance at the Rivers State College of Arts and Science, but he left out after failing his first semester exams.

He He became utterly enamored with entertainment at some time and would frequently break family restrictions to attend late-night music events.

Timaya, also known as Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, debuted as a solo artist in 2006 with the release of “Dem Mama.”

The song received positive feedback and was included on his debut album, True Story, released the following year.
