“Why rappers switch genres” – Nigerian rapper, Ycee reacts to the absence of rappers at Rick Ross’s concert held in Lagos

Nigerian rapper, Oludemilade Martin Alejo, professionally known as Ycee has reacted to the absence of Nigerian rappers at Rick Ross’s concert held at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

Rick Ross had on Thursday organized a concert at the Eko Hotels and Suites. There were performances by some of Nigeria’s artists including Tiwa Savage, Davido, Mayorkun, Patoranking, Buju, Pheelz, Rema, and DJ Obi.

TrendyHipHop reported earlier that rapper, M.I Abaga reacted to the absence of Nigerian rappers at the show and faulted the Afrobeats for the disrespect, Ycee has also seemingly reacted to the poor regard for Nigerian rappers.

The Juice crooner unleashed his dismay via his verified Twitter handle where he reacted about the concert.

Zaheer disclosed that it’s these aforementioned reasons that trigger rappers to switch from the rap genre to other music genres.

In his words, he wrote:

“This ain’t even about me cos I haven’t put out rap music in a while, but how do you have a Rick Ross show in Nigeria and not have one single Nigerian rapper on the lineup? And tomorrow you wanna come on Twitter and ask why rappers are switching genres,”
