Yemi Eberechi Alade, better known by her stage name Yemi Alade, is a Nigerian Afro pop singer and composer who was born on March 13, 1989, in Abia State, Nigeria.
Yemi Alade is the fifth of seven children in her family; her father, James Alade, is Yoruba and her mother, Helen Uzoma, is Igbo, which is why she is sometimes referred to as a “Yoruba-Igbo girl.”
She attended St Saviour British Primary School before enrolling at Victory Grammar School in Lagos, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in geography.
Yemi Alade began her musical debut in 2005 as a member of the all-girl ensemble Noty Spices, but she shot to fame after winning The Peak Talent program in 2009.
Under Jus’ Kiddin label, the actress released her debut track, “Fimisile.” In 2012, she signed with Effyzzie Music Group, and her single “Ghen Ghen Love” was released.
Her hit tune “Johnny,” produced by Selebobo, set a new record in 2013.
The song quickly became a worldwide hit, with radio stations in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia, and the United Kingdom all playing it.
Despite the fact that it was published near the end of the year, the song was named as one of the finest songs of 2013. Check out Yemi Alade’s Songs, Vidoe and Albums below!
