Gabriel Epkiri was seized by the Akwa Ibom Police Command after he was accused of selling his 4-month-old child for about #400,000.

Several accounts suggest that the destitute inmate was motivated by a desire to escape poverty to stage the brutal deed on his own kid.

The PPRO has revealed that the currently captured criminal is from the village of Ekit Itam Akpan Obong in the Itu Local Government Area.

Police stated:

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi has condemned the action, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, the PPRO informed.”

“The Commissioner of Police has condemned the action of one Gabriel Okon Ekpiri of Ekit Itam Akpan Obong in Itu Local Government Area who sold his nine-year-old son for N400,000.”
