Nigerian Afrobeat musician, Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid, has collected his Grammy award plaque.

After Burna Boy received his plaque a few weeks ago, Wizkid became the second Nigerian to receive a plaque.

The musician, who expressed his delight on Instagram, used his handle @wizkidayo to announce the award of a plaque to his followers and music fans, while also displaying a snapshot of the plaque with his name on it.

At the 63rd Grammy Awards, held in Los Angeles, California, on March 14, the Nigerian singer won ‘Best Music Video’ for his role in ‘Brown Skin Girl.

He shared the prize with Beyonce, who owns the song and has Saint John and Blue Ivy as featured artists.

Jenn Nkiru, who directed the video, would also receive an award.

In October 2019, additional Nigerian musicians were included in the song “The Gift,” which was written for Beyonce’s album “Lion King.”

Remember that the Nigerian Afrobeats artist won honors alongside Burna Boy at the 2021 Grammys?

Wizkid took up the award for Best Music Video for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the song “Brown Skin Girl” from the Lion King: The Gift album.
