Nigerian street-pop star Seyi Vibez revisits a familiar piece of his own musical vocabulary on “OBLE,” the penultimate track before “SWAGUU” closes with its Quavo-assisted finale.
DIBS produces the record. That recurring “oble” phrase actually traces back to Seyi Vibez’s 2023 track “Flakky,” a word that later inspired DJ YK Mule’s “Oblee.” So “Seyi Vibez OBLE” isn’t introducing something new here. It’s reclaiming a piece of language that already spread well beyond his original record, and folding it back into his own catalogue on his own terms.
That’s a pretty clever move, honestly. Nightlife references, spending, dancing, and loose humor run through the lyrics, while short vocal commands and responses keep the whole structure simple and built purely for movement. Nothing complicated, just repetition designed to turn a familiar phrase into a dancefloor call.
Sitting right before the album’s closing title track, “OBLE” gives “SWAGUU” one last burst of pure party energy before Quavo steps in for the finale. Reworking a phrase this recognizable connects the song directly to Seyi Vibez’s earlier material while showing just how far that original idea traveled outside its home record.
