British electronic trio Clean Bandit brings Chlöe Bailey and Nigerian Afrobeats star Omah Lay together on “Company,” a genre-crossing single that arrived early ahead of its planned rollout.
Grace Chatto and Jack Patterson wrote and directed the accompanying video themselves. So “Clean Bandit Company” carries a personal touch beyond just the featured names. Chatto has said the chord progressions are distinctly Patterson’s, and she’s spoken warmly about Chlöe’s voice and energy, mentioning the two first met in Toronto years back. Clean Bandit has also worked with Omah Lay and other Nigerian artists across the past five years, so this collaboration didn’t happen overnight.
That history matters here, honestly. The track blends sleek electronic textures with Afrobeats-inspired grooves, giving all three artists room to bring their own identity into the mix. Chlöe described falling in love with the song the moment Clean Bandit first played it for her, and that enthusiasm comes through in her vocal performance.
“Company” also marks the first taste of Clean Bandit’s next studio album, due out next year through their own CB X label. Chatto has hinted that other songs from those earlier Nigerian sessions might eventually surface too. For now, “Company” stands as an unexpected pairing that somehow makes complete sense once you actually hear it.
