South African house producer DJ Lace joins forces with MÖRDA and Thobani White on “Jubalala,” released September 16, 2026, through The House of Thom.
That release didn’t happen in isolation. DJ Zinhle backed the project and publicly documented the studio sessions leading up to it, referring to the trio affectionately as “the boys” while sharing behind-the-scenes moments online. This isn’t the first time these names have crossed paths either, DJ Lace and Thobani White both featured on Zinhle’s self-titled EP just last month, appearing together on “Njengemali” alongside Nayvee Womculo and Msindo’listo, and that same circle extends further into “Baba Yilwa” with FunkTone. “Jubalala” continues a genuine creative relationship rather than a one-off studio booking.
MÖRDA brings his polyrhythmic percussion and production experience into the mix, while Thobani White, born Ntokozo Providence Biyela, handles vocal duties and songwriting entirely on his own. Running at 120 BPM in A-flat minor, the track blends Afro-house foundations with 3 Step influences, crisp shaker loops, and a rolling bassline built for sound systems rather than headphones.
